The speakeasy claims to offer Singapore’s largest selection of umeshu, a sweet and tangy Japanese liqueur made from the plum-like ume fruit. Popular local chain Heavenly Wang is hopping on the T-Swift bandwagon too, going the extra mile to temporarily rename teh to ‘Tay’ (usually priced at S$1.90 a cup) on menus at selected outlets. Hilarious. As a nod to Taylor’s birth year 1989, the eatery will give away 89 cups of hot tea (or hot ‘Tay’) at each outlet islandwide daily, with an order of any main dish from Mar 2 to 9. No, you don’t have to flash a concert ticket or utter any line to snag your free ‘Tay’ – but you’ll have to follow the eatery’s official Instagram page.
