SINGAPORE: A traffic accident involving several vehicles has occurred on the Causeway leading to Woodlands Checkpoint, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said on Thursday (Jul 7).
One of the three lanes on the Causeway is blocked, according to an ICA update on Facebook at about 11.15am. Shortly after the accident, two lanes were blocked by the incident.
“Arriving travellers should expect delays. Motorists are advised to follow our Facebook page for updates,” said ICA, who also described the incident as an “accident beyond international boundary”.
Videos of the incident circulating on social media showed a truck crashing into multiple cars before coming to a halt.
A subsequent video showed debris strewn along the road with several damaged vehicles parked to the side. An SBS Transit bus that appeared to have no passengers was also seen in the video.
A Malaysian police vehicle and several officers were also at the scene.
