Jamus Lim takes over Nicole Seah as Workers Party's youth wing president in new Central Executive Committee appointments

SINGAPORE: The Workers' Party (WP) revealed its Central Executive Committee (CEC) positions on Wednesday (Jul 17), with Dr Jamus Lim replacing former senior member Nicole Seah as youth wing president.

Ms Seah, along with Mr Leon Perera, who headed the media team, resigned after having an extramarital affair.

Now heading the media team is Mr Louis Chua, with former Punggol East SMC MP Lee Li Lian taking over his previous position as deputy head of media.

WP said in a media statement that its CEC met on Tuesday and approved the appointments.

An additional member, Mr Fadli Fawzi, was co-opted into the CEC. Mr Fawzi, a lawyer and previously an Islamic Religious Council of Singapore executive, was a WP candidate in Marine Parade GRC in the last General Election in 2020.

The positions are:

Secretary-general: Mr Pritam Singh

Party chair: Ms Sylvia Lim

Vice Chair: Mr Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap

Treasurer: Ms He Ting Ru

Deputy Treasurer: Mr Nathaniel Koh

Organising Secretary: Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong

Deputy Organising Secretaries: Mr Ang Boon Yaw, Mr Foo Seck Guan Kenneth, Mr Tan Kong Soon and Mr Fadli Fawzi

Head, Media Team: Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis

Deputy Head, Media Team: Ms Lee Li Lian

Head, Policy Research: Mr Gerald Giam

Deputy Head, Policy Research: Dr Jamus Lim

Youth Wing President: Dr Jamus Lim

The team previously had a cadre members conference on Jun 30, where 14 members, including Mr Pritam Singh and Ms Sylvia Lim, were voted into the CEC, which is the party’s top decision-making body.

Mr Singh was re-elected as the party's secretary-general, while Ms Lim it's chairwoman. Ex-WP chief Low Thia Khiang remains a member of the CEC.
