SINGAPORE: It's been eight years since Singapore won an Olympic medal - and the country is pinning its hopes on Maximilian Maeder when he races in the men's kitefoiling final on Thursday (Aug 8).
The 17-year-old world champion secured his spot a day earlier as one of the top two competitors, behind Slovenia's Toni Vodisek. There will be four sailors racing for podium finishes.
The kitefoiling final could kick off as early as 8pm Singapore time, although the start time would vary depending on wind conditions.
