SINGAPORE: A man who made the news over his S$3 million lawsuits against a woman who rejected him has received more charges of cheating.

On top of his previous charge of cheating a person of money over a fake MacBook, K Kawshigan was handed five more similar charges on Thursday (Dec 7).

The 31-year-old Singaporean now faces six charges in all of conspiring to cheat.

He is accused of conspiring with two men - Cheng Zie Sian and Tee Boon Siong - to cheat six victims of a total of S$23,800 between October and November this year.

According to charge sheets, the victims were cheated out of sums ranging from S$990 to S$12,000 for sealed MacBook products that turned out to be fake.

Kawshigan allegedly engaged couriers to deliver the sealed devices to the victims, inducing them to transfer the money to bank accounts.

On Thursday, the prosecution sought further remand of one week, saying the investigation officer has uncovered further evidence, with more reports launched against Kawshigan.

The prosecutor said more time was needed to recover exhibits and to conduct raids.

The court granted the application. Kawshigan, who appeared in court via video-link in a white collared shirt, listened to the proceedings without expression and said nothing.

He will return to court in January.
