For those of you tuning in to this year's National Day Parade (NDP) on your screens on Aug 9, be sure not to change the channel once the festivities are over.

MasterChef Singapore is returning for its fourth season, which will air immediately after the NDP festivities at 8.30pm on Mediacorp's Channel 5 and mewatch.

This season will have a slight twist though.

Eighteen aspiring home chefs will compete in three groups of six, each led by a different judge, a la The Voice. As the competition heats up, the focus will shift to battles for individual honours. The last cook standing will win the title of MasterChef and walk away with S$10,000 in cash, along with internship opportunities, staycation packages and an array of homewares and appliances.

This season's contestants comprise folks from all walks of life:

  • Amanda Chia, 23, legal trainee
  • Aameer Alimchandai, 24, spice mixer
  • Aretha Law, 24, engineer
  • Aizat Haikal Saini, 33, ex-flight attendant
  • Esther Aw, 53, homemaker
  • Dheive Uthaman, 25, digital marketer
  • Divya Tolath, 31, account director
  • Inderpal Singh, 33, home-based business owner
  • Jacky Tan, 41, marketing consultant
  • Tham Jun Gui, 33, home-based baker
  • Jonathan Ng, 37, shipbroker
  • Louise Yuan, 43, food start-up owner
  • Mandy Kee, 41, business manager
  • Reuben Wong, 30, former pharmacist
  • Saza Faradilla, 27, student life manager
  • Sharmaine Toh, 25, urban planner
  • Tina Amin, 42, administrative officer
  • Lin Zi Xuan, 18, student

Leading them will be chefs Audra Morrice, Bjorn Shen and Damian D’Silva.

“We are thrilled to open the doors to the MasterChef kitchen this National Day, in a perfectly timed celebration of Singaporeans’ universal love for food," said Angeline Poh, Chief Customer and Corporate Development Officer, Mediacorp, in a statement.

"Beyond an enticing feast of local dishes reimagined by our aspiring home cooks, Season Four is poised to shake things up with the introduction of judges’ teams, dialling up the competition and drama. We hope viewers with join us on the journey, rally behind our aspiring chefs and witness their culinary dreams unfold.”

Following the premiere of the fourth season of MasterChef Singapore, subsequent episodes will air from Aug 13, every Sunday at 9.30pm. All episodes will be available on-demand, on the same night via mewatch and the Mediacorp's YouTube channel.
