SINGAPORE: A person was found with a leg injury in Clementi Forest on Monday evening (Aug 9) and was carried out on a stretcher for about 2km.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at about 6pm.

"Four firefighters from Bukit Batok Fire Station and an ambulance crew had to trek into the forested area from along Clementi Road for about 900m," said SCDF.

"The firefighters then carried the casualty out of the forested area on a stretcher for about 2km."

Another ambulance was deployed along King Albert Park to take the injured person to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

SCDF did not provide details about the injured person.

The incident comes nearly a week after three women, aged between 35 and 47, lost their way in Clementi Forest.

They were located and brought to safety at about 8.55pm on Aug 3, more than an hour after the police received a call for assistance at around 7.30pm.

No injuries were reported, said the police.

Last month, NParks announced that two new recreation trails at Clementi Nature Corridor will progressively be ready from 2023.

Another 2km trail will link the Clementi Forest Stream to a new nature park that is set to be carved out in Ulu Pandan west.
