Mediacorp actor Ayden Sng is set to start working on his second drama series in China. The homegrown artiste, 30, took to Instagram to share the news on Tuesday (Apr 9), with a photo of himself with Chinese producer and screenwriter Yu Zheng.
In his caption, he wrote that the production will be xianxia – a fantasy drama genre based on Chinese mythology – and thanked Yu and China’s Huanyu Entertainment for the opportunity.
“Grew up watching shows of this genre but never imagined myself to actually be part of one,” he added.
This also marks Ayden’s second time working with Yu, who is best known for producing the 2018 hit show Story Of Yanxi Palace.
On Apr 1, the homegrown artiste shared that he just wrapped up his first production in China – Yu’s period drama Five Blessings.
Accompanying pictures of himself in costume, he wrote: “There were lots of firsts experienced and also many things to learn and to get familiarised with.”
“The reality is - this has been hard. But like I always believe in, it is through the most onerous challenges that there is the most growth.”
In the same post, he also wrote: “About to embark on my second production here so I’m sure the next few months are going to be even more mind-blowing but i‘m truly excited to see where that takes me.”
Ayden will star alongside Chinese actors Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng in his new xianxia drama.
