As if holding a full-length concert wasn’t enough, K-pop group Itzy surprised their fans in Singapore with an unexpected collaboration featuring a familiar star.
On Tuesday (Apr 9), the girl group posted a video of them singing a rendition of their song Untouchable with special guest – singer-songwriter Benjamin Kheng.
In the caption, they wrote: “Finally we met Benjamin in Singapore… And we made #UNTOUCHABLE HARMONY”.
The Instagram reel showed four Itzy members – Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna – using various objects to create sounds in typical Benjamin Kheng fashion.
Benjamin, who was in the Singapore band The Sam Willows, is known for posting covers, where he uses random household items to create beats of songs.
Those who follow Itzy would know that this was not the only time Benjamin had appeared on the K-pop group’s Instagram page. A few days prior, they had shared his cover of their song Untouchable.
Some speculate that Benjamin’s video, posted on Apr 4, might have been a teaser for the collaboration.
In response to his caption “couldn’t get tickets to ITZY… so this will have to do”, a commenter told him there were still tickets on sale.
To which, he replied: “perhaps i can’t make it / perhaps this is a marketing thing”.
Meanwhile, check out our interview with Itzy:
