SINGAPORE: Singapore’s economy grew 4.8 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, according to advance estimates released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on Thursday (Jul 14).
It extends the 4.0 per cent growth recorded in the previous quarter.
On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted basis, Singapore's gross domestic product (GDP) was unchanged in the second quarter, after posting an expansion of 0.9 per cent in the first quarter.
The advance GDP estimates for the second quarter of 2022 are computed largely from data in April and May.
They are intended as an early indication of GDP growth in the quarter and are subject to revision when more comprehensive data become available, said MTI.
