SINGAPORE: Police arrested a 20-year-old in the vicinity of Margaret Drive on Saturday (Feb 3) night after receiving a call alerting them to a man holding a chopper at 301 Commonwealth Avenue.

The man had already been detained by members of the public when officers arrived at the scene, said the police, who got the call at 7.05pm.

Seven people were injured, none seriously.

"Two men, aged 76 and 40, and a 6-year-old girl, who sustained minor injuries, were conveyed conscious to hospital," said the police. Another three men, aged 54, 21 and 20, and a 45-year-old woman sustained minor injuries, but declined further medical assistance.

According to 8world, eyewitnesses said the incident unfolded across several locations, including the ground floor of the surrounding Housing Board flats at Margaret Drive and the hawker centre.

An 8world reporter at the scene found that the suspect had travelled around 900m, from Margaret Drive to Queens Peak condominium. Photos provided by witnesses showed a knife and blood stains at a stairway of one of the locations.
