SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums closed mostly higher for the second bidding exercise in a row, with only Category C prices for commercial vehicles falling on Wednesday (Apr 3).

For Category A cars, or those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$89,000 (US$65,831), up from S$85,489 in the last exercise.

Premiums for larger cars rose to above S$100,000 after staying below that threshold for several tenders.

Category B prices saw the largest increase this round, rising from S$96,011 to S$101,334.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, rose to S$101,002 from S$95,856.

Motorcycle premiums closed at S$10,000, up from S$9,689 in the last exercise.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, fell to S$67,501 from S$70,112 in the previous bidding exercise.

A total of 4,438 bids were received, with a quota of 2,509 COEs available.
