SINGAPORE: Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at five locations will be raised by S$1 (US$0.78) from Monday (Sep 1).

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Wednesday that its observations of traffic conditions in July showed "traffic had built up at various stretches of the expressways".

To manage congestion at these locations, ERP rates will be increased by S$1 with effect from Sep 1 at five locations during certain time periods, it said

The rate changes apply to:

  • The AYE after Jurong Town Hall towards the city from 7.30am to 8am
  • The AYE after North Buona Vista towards Tuas from 5.30pm to 6pm and from 6.30pm to 7pm
  • The Southbound CTE before Braddell Road from 8am to 8.30am
  • The Northbound CTE after PIE from 6.30pm to 7pm and from 7pm to 7.30pm
  • The PIE (Kallang Bahru & Slip road into Bendemeer) from 8.30am to 9am

Rates for the other previously announced timeslots and gantries remain unchanged, said LTA.

"With these adjustments, the number of locations and timeslots charged remains lower than the number charged pre-COVID," it added.

The authority said it would continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely and assess if ERP rates need to be further adjusted in future.

“In particular, LTA is closely monitoring traffic conditions along Northbound CTE and Southbound KPE as speeds have persistently been lower than optimal,” it added.

Last September, LTA raised ERP rates by S$1 at three locations along the AYE, MCE and KPE to manage peak-hour congestion.
