SINGAPORE: Train services between Boon Lay and Queenstown MRT stations on the East-West Line (EWL) were halted on Wednesday (Sep 25) morning due to a power fault.
Transport operator SMRT said in an update at 10.17am that a train on the East-West Line was returning to Ulu Pandan depot when it caused a power trip.
This resulted in a train near Clementi station stalling.
"Our station staff have been deployed to assist commuters who are in the affected train. In-train and station announcements are being made to keep commuters informed," said SMRT.
It added that free regular and bridging bus services are available between Boon Lay and Queenstown stations.
SMRT first flagged the disruption in train service at 9.52am, attributing it to a "traction power fault". It later said the issue was caused by a "train fault" before updating it to a "power fault".
