SINGAPORE: The number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore has crossed the 60,000 mark, with nine new cases reported as of noon on Friday (Mar 5).
All nine new cases were imported and had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in its preliminary daily update.

As of Friday, Singapore has reported a total of 60,007 COVID-19 cases and 29 fatalities from the disease.

Details of the new cases will be released on Friday night, said MOH.

The woman received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine the day before, and the symptoms might have been due to the vaccination, MOH said.
As the COVID-19 vaccine does not contain a live virus, the woman could not have been infected due to the vaccination, said the ministry.
"It is possible for one to be infected just before or just after vaccination as it typically takes a few weeks for an individual to build up immunity after completing vaccination," it added.

An eatery at ITE College Central and 724 Ang Mo Kio Market were also included in the list.
